St Andrew's

St. Andrew's kindly made Maternity Worldwide, Charity of the Year 2005-2006. As well as knitting a huge number of baby vests, various events have taken place. Here's some of the events the group have run: 10th July: "Midwives Galore" - 3 midwives who go to St Andrew's talked about their experiences as midwives since 1968/9. Margaret Barnes described the evening:

"Our Midwives Galore evening was very enjoyable - 3 midwives who are members of our church talked about their experiences and the changes in midwifery in this country over 45 years. One is Malaysian and a second came from Pakistan to be a midwife here a very long time ago - the current General Manager of the hospital here was delivered by her! We had about 35 people at this event and raised about £90".

In addition

9th September: Ethiopian Evening.
This was the final event in aid of Maternity Worldwide and was a wonderful evening of food, music and other activities. Over 500 pounds was raised.
