Maternity Worldwide exists to help reduce the number of women dying or injured in childbirth.
Mission
Our mission is to work with communities and our partners to:
- identify and develop appropriate and effective ways to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity.
- facilitate communities to access quality skilled maternity care.
- support the provision of quality skilled care.
How We Work
We are focused on preventing maternal death in childbirth and on improving the survival of newborn babies.
We will be driven by unmet need and by our ability to make impact on health-related causes of maternal mortality in resource poor-settings.
Our programme activities will be community based and community-led in design and monitoring.
We seek to develop and support well managed effective and sustainable programmes which offer high quality services.
We strive to offer the best value return for our beneficiaries and supporters.
We will work in partnership where it is appropriate and mutually advantageous to do so.
We will develop and maintain a role in research which will remain operational and opportunistic.
