Maternity Worldwide brings festival fever to Brighton!

On the weekend of the 15th - 17th June, Maternity Worldwide teamed up with the Gladstone pub (www.myspace.com/thegladdy) and Warner Music Studios (http://wms.moonfruit.com) to bring the festival life to Brighton. The city was asked to forget Glastonbury and instead to support a local charity by attending Gladstonebury.

Brighton locals were treated to a 3 day weekend festival, all in aid of Maternity Worldwide, saving lives in childbirth. Over 50 bands played Gladstonebury, making it one of the biggest festivals in the country! Not only did we have live music, there were some magicians, comedians and poets to entertain too!

This was something a bit different for the charity, and we were delighted with the results. We were able to meet some new supporters, and spread the word about Maternity Worldwide. There were many people who volunteered their services and goods over the weekend, without which, it wouldn't have happened. In particular, we'd like to thank:

  • Andy Warner and Warner Music Studios (http://wms.moonfruit.com)
  • The Gladstone Pub (www.myspace.com/thegladdy)
  • All the bands and entertainers.

Our fantastic raffle prizes came courtesy of:

  • The Music Room, Brighton, who donated a brand new electric guitar!
  • The Yeoman Pub, Brighton, who donated a meal for two!
  • Jeff Chapman, who donated a guitar set-up!
  • Andy Warner, who donated studio time at Warner Studios!

A huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported us and donated to Maternity Worldwide. We made over £2000, all of which will go towards saving lives in childbirth.

Thank you so much. See you next year!
